Kathleen Louise (Norton) Gatto, 70, of Hamburg, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife to Daniel B. Gatto Sr. for over 52 years. Born in Reading, Kathleen was daughter of the late William Jordan Norton, and survived by her mother, Anna Louise (Wengert) Norton.
Kathy had a remarkable gift for teaching and dedicated over 20 years with the Hamburg Area School District. She brought patience and kindness to her 3rd grade classes and inspired countless students and educators along the way. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, crocheting, reading. She loved her grandchildren dearly and enjoyed spending time with all her family. Most importantly she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
In addition to her husband, Daniel, and mother, Anna, Kathleen is survived by her sons, Christopher Gatto, husband of Leigh Anne, of Exeter, Scott Gatto husband of Cassandra, of New Ringold, Benjamin Gatto, husband of Kelly, of Lebanon, and Daniel Gatto Jr. husband of Jody, of Jonestown. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Mikaela, Anna, Aftyn, Kelley, Connor, Ali, Steele, Avery, Emma, Pierce, Haley, Dax, and one great grandchild on the way. She is also survived by her brothers, William Norton Jr and Alan Norton.
Funeral service for Kathy will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 11:30 AM at The Bridge Church, 3561 Old U.S. 22, Hamburg, PA 19526. Pastor Dan Sarna to officiate. Interment to follow at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and guests at The Bridge Church, Hamburg, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM on Thursday.
