Lloyd L. Keffer

Lloyd L. Keffer, 90, of Mohnton, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 2:00 am at Reading Hospital.  He was the husband of Diane K. (Scholl) Keffer and was preceded in death by his first wife Dorothy (Breitegam) Keffer, October 2000.  Born in Reading, Mr. Keffer was the son of the late Floyd L. and Mary Ann (O’Neil) Keffer.  He was a 20 year veteran of the United States Army serving during both the Korean and Vietnam War. He attained the rank of CW4.  Mr. Keffer was a member of Salem Shalter’s Lutheran Church.  He received a degree in Business Management from Reading Area Community College and a secondary degree in Transportation from Alvernia University.  Mr. Keffer was employed by Interstate Container as a store room supervisor; and as a manager of the shipping dock at Exide Battery ,he also served as  a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service in Mohnton.  Mr. Keffer is also survived by his son Paul L. Keffer husband of Kathy M. Keffer of Muhlenberg Township; his daughter Kathleen A. Baldwin wife of Kevin G. Baldwin of Blandon; his grandchildren Jennifer,Christopher, Sean, Derek; great grandchildren Austin, Dylan, Chase, Killian, Liam and his great great grandsons Pierce and Preston.   He was preceded in death by his brother William and sister Helen.

Memorial Service will be held at Salem Shalter’s Lutheran Church 2032 Mt. Laurel Road, Fleetwood, Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 10:00 am.   Reverend Mary Gade will officiate.   Interment will follow at Salem Shalter’s Church Cemetery.  The Family will receive relatives and friends at Salem Shalter’s Lutheran Church Tuesday from 9:30 am to 10:00 am.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Children’s Home of Reading 1010 Centre Ave. Reading, PA 19601 in memory of Mr. Lloyd L.
