Loretta F. Franey, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, in her son Kevin’s home surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in Port Carbon, Pennsylvania, Loretta was the daughter of the late Thomas and Kathryn (Seitzinger) Lonergan. Loretta dedicated her life to others, both through her long and devoted career as a nurse and through the love and compassion she poured into her family. Her warmth, patience, and strength were constants to everyone who knew her.

Loretta was the cherished wife of the late Thomas P. Franey Jr., who passed away in 2017. They shared 56 years together, raised four children and spoiled countless grandchildren.

She is survived by her siblings Michael and Kathleen and by her loving children: Thomas; husband to Karen (Lenyo) Franey, John; husband to Sheryl (Ludwig) Franey, Kathleen; wife to Dennis Lynch, and Kevin; husband to Christine (Concordia) Franey. Loretta was a proud and devoted grandmother to Connor, Daniel; husband to Emily (Marchetti) Franey, Maura, Erin, Sean; husband to Emily (Snyder) Lynch, Ryan; husband to Morgan Shires, Megan, Colin, Lily, Abigail, Rachel, Hannah, Jacob, and Samual, each of whom brought her immense pride and joy. She is also survived by her cherished great-granddaughter, Eliza.

She was preceded in death by her beloved siblings Thomas, Mary Therese, Moe, Joanie, Gene, Daniel, Winifred, Mary Francis, and Margaretta “Marge”.

Family was the center of Loretta’s world. She will be remembered most for her Sunday breakfasts, a weekly tradition that gathered the entire family together through love, laughter, and bacon.

Loretta’s kindness, generosity, and unwavering care touched countless lives. Whether tending to patients, helping a friend, or celebrating her grandchildren’s milestones, she radiated love in everything she did.

Her presence was a blessing, her absence will be deeply felt, and her love will always be remembered by those whose lives she touched.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church 4975 Boyertown Pike, Exeter Township, Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 12:00 pm. Reverend Monsignor Edward R. Domin, Celebrant. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. The family will receive relatives and friends at Saint Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church Saturday from 10:45 am to 11:45 am.
