M. Ray Miller, 94, of Fleetwood, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2026, at his home. He was the loving husband to Sharon E. (Farleigh) Miller for over 26 years of marriage before her passing on December 19, 2025. Born in West Reading, Ray was the son of the late, Mahlon M. Miller and Marguerite E. (Burgner).
Ray served in the United States Army, during the Korean War, and was the former owner of Miller Building Supply in Sinking Spring for over 45 years.Ray was a member of St. John’s Lodge #435 F&AM, and was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason. He was also a member of Rajah Shrine, a past Commander of the Rajah Shrine Legion of Honor. He served as chief of Sinking Spring and West Wyomissing Fire Companies for over 13 years and was a volunteer fire fighter for over 35 years. Ray was a life member and patron member of The NRA and member of the American Legion in Bernville.
Ray is survived by his children, Lori A. Ecker, wife of Thomas, of Millersville, Ted R. Miller, of Cumru Township, stepsons Steven R. Weiss, husband of George Welch, of Florida, Craig D. Weiss husband of Janet of Florida, stepdaughters, Lynda L .Stoudt, of Sinking Spring, Valarie Maus of Reading, and Susan Brierly of New York, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral service date and time will be announced this coming week, please visit www.beanfuneralhomes.com for updated details, online guestbook and condolences may be made as well. Interment will be held privately at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ray’s honor to Shriners Children’s Hospital. Bean Funeral Home, Sinking Spring, has been entrusted with arrangements.
