Marcia Diane “Honey” McCrory

March 22, 1943 – February 9, 2026

With heavy hearts, I share the passing of my grandmother, Marcia Diane McCrory, known to everyone who loved her simply as “Honey.” While our hearts ache in her absence, we are endlessly grateful for the bold, vibrant, and fiercely loving life she lived.

Honey was born on March 22, 1943, to Samuel Levin and Lillian Levin. She was raised in a Jewish home and was Bat Mitzvahed at 13, a meaningful milestone in her early life. Although she did not actively practice her faith in later years, she carried with her a deep belief in a higher power. She prayed for the people she loved and spoke about faith in her own quiet way. Her spirituality was personal and rooted in love.

From the very beginning, she was independent, determined, and completely her own person.

My grandmother broke barriers long before it was common for women to do so. She worked as a miner at Grace Mines and later became the first female blacktop roller for Windsor Services, dedicating 25 years to the job. In industries dominated by men, she did not ask for permission. She showed up, worked hard, and earned her place with grit and pride. She truly broke the mold for women of her time.

Beyond her strength was a woman who truly loved living. Honey brought energy wherever she went. She loved a good party, dancing and singing without hesitation, and she had a natural way of filling a room with life. Music was always part of her world, especially The Rolling Stones, and if a favorite song came on, you could count on her to be up and moving.

She was just as passionate about her sports. A loyal Philadelphia fan, she proudly cheered for the Eagles and the Phillies and never missed a chance to watch a good boxing match. That same competitive spark carried into her hobbies. She was an excellent pool player and even competed in a tournament in Las Vegas. She spent years shooting darts in league, loved playing cards and Pinochle, and enjoyed trips to the casino. Whether it was a game, a sport, or a dance floor, Honey showed up ready to play and ready to win.

Above all else, Honey loved fiercely.

She was the proud mother of my mom, Dee Bosold, who she now reunites with. After losing her daughter, her love only poured more deeply into the rest of us. She is survived by her granddaughters, Lyndsey Hinkle and her husband, Robert Hinkle III, and Kimberly Engleman Thomas and her husband, Robert Thomas. We truly were her entire world. There was never a question about where her loyalty stood. If we needed her, she was there. No hesitation, no conditions.

Her greatest joy was being Honey to her four great grandchildren, Ethan and Samuel Engleman, and Jensen and Nora Hinkle. She was endlessly proud of them and made sure they knew it. She never missed a holiday, a birthday, a game, or a gathering. She showed up every single time with love, attention, and a pride you could feel the moment she walked in the room. Being a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother was not just something she did. It was who she was.

She is also survived by her brother, Gary Levin. While life took them on different paths over the years, they shared a lifetime of history that began in childhood, a connection that remained part of her story.

My grandmother taught us what resilience looks like. She worked hard, celebrated fully, and loved with her whole heart. We will carry her strength forward, tell her stories often, and love our families the way she loved us, fiercely and without limits.

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 21 at the Mohnton Rod and Gun Club. Time will be announced.
