Maria E. Pillie

Maria E. Pillie, 76, of Reading, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Medical Center. Born in Pottsville, Maria was the daughter of the late, Alexander James Pillie and Mary (Resavage). Maria was a graduate of Pius X High School, Pottstown, class of 1964, and went on to attend and graduate from St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1970. Maria worked as an operating room nurse for 11 Years at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and later 30 years for St. Joseph’s Hospital in Reading before retiring in 2011. 

Maria is survived by her brother, Daniel J. Pillie, of Lansdale, her niece, Dr. Danelle C. Fournier, wife of Rob, of West Conshohocken, and nephew Derek A. Pillie, husband of Janay, of Fort Wayne Indiana. She is also survived by a great niece, Emma Pillie, and great nephew, Nathan Pillie, and her best friend for many years, Lynda Eschleman as well as many cousins and friends.
