Mary Ann Derr, 88, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026 surrounded by family.
Born July 10, 1937, she was the daughter of Gaetano DiPietro (Peters) and Catena DiBlasi. She was a graduate of Reading High School, Class of 1955.
Her first place of employment was Bloom’s Bridal. She later worked at Pomeroy’s Department Store before dedicating 35 years of service to John Wanamaker, where she was known for her professionalism and dedication.
She was the devoted wife of Terrance Derr Sr. for 69 years, a marriage marked by commitment and love. He preceded her in death. She was also predeceased by her brother, William Peters.
Mary Ann was a member of Saint Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church and the Junior League. She enjoyed shopping, socializing, and spending time with family and friends. She was outgoing and personable, never hesitating to strike up a conversation and make those around her feel welcome.
She is survived by her son, Terrance Derr Jr. and his wife, Lori Derr; her grandchildren, Ashley (Derr) Grande wife of Ben Grande; Terrance Derr III; and Lilly Derr; and her great-grandchildren, Luciano, Gia, and Milania Grande.
A prayer service will be held at the Chapel of Saint George at Gethsemane Cemetery, 3139 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
Mary Ann will be remembered for her warmth, her elegance, and her love of family.
