Mary S. Welch, 99, of Shillington, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at Reading Hospital. Born in December 1926, in Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania, Mary lived a remarkable life characterized by warmth, compassion, and dedication. Mary was a devoted professional in the banking industry, having spent many fulfilling years working for Meridian Bank, and Sears where her commitment and integrity endeared her to colleagues and customers alike.
She was a proud graduate of Penn Township High School and Reading Business Institute which laid the foundation for her esteemed career and her contributions to the community.
Mary is survived by her beloved son, Robert J. Heck, husband of Lisa A. Heck, of Morgantown; grandchildren Robert E. Heck and Alison N. Heck of Morgantown; and sister Natalie V. Koehler, widow of Harold Koehler, of Wyomissing.
Mary was predeceased by her first husband Robert I. Heck who passed away on June 18, 1981, and second husband Carter William A. Welch who passed away on February 14, 2005. She was also predeceased by her siblings Laura Jean Keller, John Edwin Baer, Marlene L. Berkstresser, and Barbara A. Hillman.
The funeral service for Mary S. Welch will be held on Friday, October 23, 2026, at 11:00 AM, at Bean Funeral Homes & Cremation Services Inc 129. E. Lancaster Ave. Shillington, PA 19607. A public viewing will take place on the same day, starting at 10:00 AM, allowing family and friends to pay their respects. Following the service, Mary will be laid to rest at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
