Mary Ellen Mack

Mary Ellen R. Mack, 89, of Spring Township, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 7, 2023 in her residence. She was the wife of the late Robert R. Mack, who passed away on December 21, 2022. Together they shared 67 years of marriage.Born in Lebanon, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Ella M. (Tobias) Swanger. Mrs. Mack was a member of Alsace Lutheran Church for 65 years, teaching Sunday school for 20 years. She was a graduate of Reading High School Class of 1951 and Lankenau School of Nursing in 1954. Mrs. Mack worked in the medical field for many years, lastly working as a Dental Assistant, retiring in 1994. Above all Mrs. Mack was a caregiver at heart and always took care of everyone.

She is survived by her daughter Deborah M. Pelachick, wife of the late Thomas Pelachick with whom she last resided and her 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.  Mrs. Mack was preceded in death by her children Stephen Mack, David Mack, Ruth Conner and brothers William and Jim Swanger.

Funeral Service for Mrs. Mack & Mr. Mack will be held at Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring, Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 11:00 am.  Interment will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery.  The family will receive relatives and friends at Bean Funeral Home Saturday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the St. Francis Home in Shillington.
