Matrona Recalo

Matrona Recalo, 82, of Lower Heidelberg Township, passed away Friday June 12, 2026 at 7:55 am in her residence. She was the wife of the late Ilie Recalo, Sr. who passed away June 22, 2023. Born in Romania, Mrs. Recalo was the daughter of the late Ianos and Anna (Cauni) Severa. She was known for her faith in Jesus Christ, her generosity, and her love for her family and the children of her community. She would always have a smile, a word of encouragement and a bag of candy ready to share with the children all around her. She was a member of Bethany Romanian Church of God, Reading and was a seamstress for most of her life. Mrs. Recalo is survived by her children Ilie Recalo, Jr. husband of Florica Recalo of Georgia; Stefan Recalo husband of Hafia Recalo with whom she last resided; John Recalo husband of Irina Recalo of Georgia; Ana Popovici wife of Petru Popovici of Reading; Mariana Beuca wife of Dumitru Beuca of Wernersville and her 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Ioan Severa husband of Ileana Severa of Wernersville.

Funeral Service will be held at Bethany Romanian Church of God 409 Oak Grove Road, Reading Monday, June 29, 2026 at 7:00 pm. The family will receive relatives and friends at Church from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. An additional Funeral Service will be held at Bethany Romanian Church of God 409 Oak Grove Road, Reading Tuesday June 30, 2026 at 10:00 am. The family will receive relatives and friends at Church from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Laureldale Cemetery.
