Matthew Curtis

Matthew J. Curtis, 29, of Reading, passed away unexpectedly Thursday December 23, 2021, at 2:41 pm in his residence.  Born in Newark NJ, Matthew was the son of Susan K. (Carlock) Curtis, and John D. Curtis, of Mohnton.  He was a 2011 graduate of Governor Mifflin High School and a 2015 graduate of York College of PA, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice.  Matthew was employed as a Social Services Supervisor by the Center for Community Resources; he was willing to take on new challenges to help to improve the lives of others through his work.  Matt was a marksman, outdoorsman, scuba diver, truck enthusiast, hockey player and fan. Matt always went out of his way to help people. He was a devoted son and a very good brother. In addition to his parents, Matthew is survived by his sister Kassandra J. Curtis of Chicago; paternal grandmother Donna H. Curtis  of Belvidere, NJ; his aunts Debbie A. Caffiero of Asbury, NJ; and Dawn Caccavelli of Ashville, NC; and his uncle Allen Carlock of Charlotte, NC; cousins Allen Ray Carlock of Rome, NY; Carlee, Alana, Logan Carlock of Barnegat, NJ; Patrick Caffiero and  Rose Caffiero of Asbury, NJ, Anthony Caccavelli of Ashville, NC and his best friends, Ashley and Matt Lutteroty of Bally, PA.  Matt was preceded in death by Grandfather James Curtis and Aunt Jenni Carlock.

Memorial Service will be held at Bean Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 129 East Lancaster Ave. Shillington, Thursday, December 30, 2021. The family will receive relatives and friends at Bean Funeral Home, from 4 to 6 PM, with the Memorial service to follow at 6 PM.   In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Threshold Rehabilitation Services 1000 Lancaster Ave. #1699, Reading, PA 19607 in memory of Mr. Matthew J.
