Michael J. Reed, 75, of Exeter Township, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at 7:30pm in the Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Linda L. (Weand) Reed. Born in Philadelphia, Michael was the son of the late Michael J. Burns and Kathryn Reed. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Reading and was employed by Agere, formerly Lucent Technologies, as an accountant for 30 years, prior to retiring in 2002. Michael was a friend to everyone he met. It didn’t matter if you knew him for 30 years or 30 minutes. He always greeted you with a smile and a handshake or hug. He went out of his way to help others and was loved for his selflessness. Everywhere he went, Michael knew someone and would always stop to say hello. He made everyone feel welcome and important, and anyone who left his presence was smiling.
