Norbert Pohl

Norbert W/'Rufus" Pohl, 74, of Mount Penn, passed away Tuesday, November 16,

2021 at 2:24 am at Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Mary A. (Hardinger)

Pohl. Born in Reading, Mr. Pohl was the son of the late Robert M.and Mary Louise

(Heinzman) Pohl. He was a United States Air Force Veteran serving in the 37th SPS

K-9 dog handler unit during his two tours of duty in Vietnam (1967-1970). Mr

Pohl was a foreman/superintendent at Central Door & Plywood and Eastern

Millwork until his retirement. He was the Vietnam Veterans Motorcycle Club

current PA President; lifetime member of DAV Chapter 10 and Vietnam Veterans

of America, POW/MIA organization, VFW Reinholds Post 6759,Vietnam Dog

Handler Association, Liederkranz Club; All Harley Drag Racing Association,

previously raced go-kart, midgets, sprint cars, and drag bike series at Maple Grove.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Pohl is survived by his daughter Lynelle L. Rushing, wife

of Leon Rushing and his grandson, Ryan A. Rushing of Henderson/ Nevada. Also,

his granddaughter, Megan L. Weidenhammer, wife of Richard Weidenhammer,

and his great grandson Logan Weidenhammer of Muhlenberg Township. He is

also survived by his sisters Christine L. Vaccaro of Muhlenberg Township; Michele

L. Pohl ofAlsace Township and was preceded in death by his nephew Lance

Vaccaro, March 6, 2008.

Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at Bean Funeral Homes &

Crematory, 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring, Tuesday/November 23, 2021 at

ll:00am. Interment with Military Honors rendered by the United States Air Force

Honor Guard and the Topton American Legion will follow at Charles Evans

Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends at Bean Funeral Homes &

Crematory, from 10-llam. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Spike's
