Raphael "Ralph", “Ted” Gemzik, aged 94, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2026. He was born in September, 1932 in Dupont, PA to parents Stanley Gemzik and Stella (Wrazien) Gemzik. Ralph lived a life characterized by steady devotion to his family, honor in military service, and lifelong dedication to youth mentorship.

A proud veteran, Ralph served honorably in the United States Navy from 1950-1953 aboard the John C. Butler-class destroyer escort USS Melvin R. Nawman (DE-416). His deep commitment to duty and service extended into his civilian life, where he devoted many years as a leader with the Boy Scouts of America, guiding countless young men in developing character, citizenship, and self-reliance.

Above all else, Ralph was a fiercely dedicated family man. His family was the center of his universe, and he poured care, steadfast support, and affection into protecting and nurturing those he loved. Whether offering wisdom, or simply sharing one of his many life moments, Ralph had an unwavering commitment to his wife and children throughout his 94 years.

His legacy is carried on by his loving family, friends, and former scouts whose lives were enriched by his guidance and generosity. Raphael is survived by his three sons: Brian, (Roseann) of Perkasie, Michael (Caryn) of Willow Grove, and David (Tracey) of Norristown. He also leaves behind his sister, Rita Ameen as well as his seven grandchildren (Zachary, Brett, Ethan, Casey, Christen, Gabriel, and Abigail).

Ralph was reunited in death with his beloved wife of nearly 66 years, Germaine Gemzik, and his cherished daughter, Cheryl Ann. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Stella Gemzik, his sister, Gloria Scyrba, and brothers: Stanley "Junior" Gemzik, Carl Gemzik, and Paul Gemzik who held a special place in his heart throughout his life.

Ralph's legacy of devotion to his family, service, kindness, and quiet resilience along with his strong handshake and many stories will live on in the memories of all who knew him.
