Ray Drey

Ray C. Drey, 77, of Cumru Twp., passed away August 26, 2008 at 9:50 PM in Reading Hospital & Medical Center where he was a patient for 8 days. He was the husband of Mildred S. (Dickinson) Drey. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Leonard W. and Kathryn M. (Hulsizer) Drey.
Mr. Drey was a 1949 graduate of Shillington High School serving as Class President. He was and an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He was employed as an agent by the CIA for 2 years and later worked as a letter carrier by the US Postal Service for 32 years until his retirement in 1986.
Mr. Drey was an avid rose gardener and sports enthusiast.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Beverly A. (Drey) wife of Anthony Crooch of Sinking Spring and a son Bradley R. Drey of Shillington, 4 grandchildren Jeremy Drey, Abbigail Drey, Haley Crooch and Michael Crooch, and a sister Joy A. (Drey) wife of Barry Adams of Kutztown.
Services will be Friday at 2:00 PM in Bean Funeral Home, 129 East Lancaster Ave., Shillington. Rev. Victor A. Kroninger will officiate. Friends will be received Friday 1:00 to 2:00 PM. Interment in Fairview Cemetery.
