Ray E. Miller, 79, of Sinking Spring passed away on November 5, 2025. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Forrest and Dorothy Miller and was the husband of Louise (Roseman) Miller.
Ray was a graduate of Manheim Township High School, received his bachelor’s degree in business education from Shippensburg University, where he was a founding member of the Acacia Fraternity, and received his master’s degree from Temple University.
He was a high school business education teacher for 7 years in the Perkiomen Valley School District before transitioning to a career as a court stenographer at the Berks County courthouse, a position he held for 34 years.
Ray was a member of St. Peter’s UCC in Spring Township, and he was an active volunteer in the larger community. He participated in the Spring Township Youth Soccer Association during the time his children were involved, and later served as part of the Western Berks Shepherding Ministries where he provided transportation for individuals to medical appointments. Ray enjoyed playing tennis at the Spring Valley YMCA, traveling with his family and friends, and doting over his grandchildren.
Ray is survived by his wife of 56 years, Louise; his children: Michael Miller, husband of Julie Ravis, Cumru Township, Stephanie Tremble, wife of Josh, Wyomissing, Kimberly Fremont, wife of Scott, Media; and his five grandchildren: Kate, Charlotte, Robert, Jackie, and Ryan. Ray is also survived by his twin brother, Roy Miller, of Easton and younger sister, Lois Burkman, of Lititz. He is predeceased by his sister, Bonita Gordon.
The family will receive visitors beginning at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at St. Peter’s UCC in West Lawn, with the service to follow at 11:30 am. After the service, there will be a luncheon in the church’s fellowship hall.
