Rev. Robert D. Lucas

Rev. Robert David Lucas, 87, of Sinking Spring, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2026, at Sinking Spring, Nursing and Rehab. He was the loving husband to Dr. Robin A. (Smith) Lucas for over 32 years of marriage. Born in Courtland, NY, Robert was the son of the late, Harold Lucas, and L. Margaret (Chew).

Robert was a graduate of Corning High School, going on to achieve a Bachelor’s of Cartography from the University of Memphis, his Masters of Theology from the Methodist Theological School of Ohio, and a graduate degree of French, in Geneva Switzerland. Robert served as a United Methodist Minister for over 30 years, as well as an Addiction Counselor at Caron Treatment Centers for over 28 years where he developed the family program within the Adolescent Unit.

Bob will be remembered as a kind, wonderful man who did great things who always had a calm approach to everything he did, he will be missed.

In addition to his wife Robin, Robert is survived by his children, Mark Lucas, husband of Catherine, Kevin Lucas, Wendy Bruce, wife of Jacob, and Amanda Pellicciotti, he is also survived by his grandchildren, Fraya, Jonathon, Trinity, Drake, Kaden, Narayana, Logan, Liam, Cullin, Ender, and Matthew, as well as his sister Priscilla Root, and niece Catherine Pienkoski, wife of Bruce.

Funeral Service for Robert will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at 2:30 PM in Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring, PA 19608. The family will receive guests in Bean Funeral Home, Sinking Spring, on Sunday from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Robert’s memory to The Animal Rescue League of Berks County or St. Judes Children’s Hospital.
