Richard Robert Bright, 75, of Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania, was called home by the Lord on Monday, December 29, 2025.Before enduring early-onset dementia, he lived a full life as a true family man.
Rich was born in Reading, PA on Flag Day, 1950, to Elwood and Jane Bright, née Fordyce; he was a 1968 graduate of Governor Mifflin High School. In 1979, he wed Barbara Galbreath Frey of Lancaster, PA, beginning their nearly 47-year marriage. In the early decades, he served for 10+ years as treasurer of Seyfert Wesleyan Church, coached youth baseball, bowled in family leagues at Berks Lanes, taught his kids to golf at Village Greens (where he also learned from his dad), and always made time for family vacations.
After working 35 years at Arkema of Birdsboro, PA, his favorite retirement activities included spending time with his kids and grandkids, watching Phillies baseball, and golfing and bowling with friends. In April 2015, his lifetime of bowling culminated in a perfect 300 game!
Throughout his life he modeled hard work, honesty, and responsibility, and often gave his time and energy to help others.
Rich is survived by his loving wife and long-time caregiver, Barbara; sons, Christopher (Ashley) and Andrew (Megan); seven grandsons, Blake, Lincoln, Davis, Chase, Beckett, Bennett, and Anders; and brothers, David and Charles (Sandi).
