Richard Seidel

Richard L. Seidel, 87, of Mount Penn, passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at the Reading Hospital.

Born in Robeson Township, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late William J. and Emily (Hahn) Seidel.

He was the beloved companion of more than 20 years of Doris Snyder, who passed away on December 9, 2018.

During his life he was a Backhoe Operator and Assembler for Stanley G. Flag Company.

Richard enjoyed watching T.V., playing the slot machines at the casino and playing bingo with his beloved Doris. He also collected Hess Trucks.

Richard was predeceased by his son Gary Seidel; brother, Ralph Seidel; and nephews, Paul Seidel and Jim Seidel.

He is survived by his granddaughter, Deana L. Rock, wife of Troy, of Mount Penn; brother William E. Seidel, husband of Patricia A. Martin, of Robeson Township; sister, Edna Hamilton, of Robeson Township; and sister-in-law Joyce Seidel. Richard is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Wanda Angstadt, Roy Hamilton, Darlene Myers, Glenda Seidel, Lori Seidel, Tim Seidel, Teresa Snyder, Richard “Rick” Seidel, William E. Seidel Jr., John Martin, James Martin and 10 great nephews and nieces.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Bean Funeral Homes, 6 Fairlane Road, Exeter Township, PA 19606 on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 1:00pm. Interment will follow at Charles Evans Cemetery.
