Robert R. Saltzer, 80, of Shoemakersville, formerly of Boyertown, passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at his daughter’s residence. Born in Pottstown, PA he was the son of the late, Robert and Florence (Fry) Saltzer. Robert worked for 37 years at the Reading Hospital as an orderly and eventually becoming PCA before his retirement in 2003. Robert worked at the Boyertown McDonald's for 18 years. He officially retired December 04, 2021. Robert also was a part of the Voices of Victory Choir.
He also served as a cross guard for the Reading School District. Robert will always be missed and remembered for his love of traveling, as well as baseball, especially rooting on the Philadelphia Phillies. He loved riding his scooter and bicycling to and from work. Robert absolutely loved camping, bowling and LOVED watching the hallmark channel and he enjoyed rollercoasters. He will be missed by his beloved grand doggy, Bella, and grand cat, Shaggy.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Charity Groff, wife of Robert, of Shoemakersville, his granddaughter, Jennifer Nonemaker, wife of Ian, of CA, and his great granddaughters, Kyla and Lailah. He is also survived by his brother, Gerald Saltzer, and his 10 nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Robert is predeceased by his brother, Harold Saltzer, and his sister, Doris J. Kane.
Funeral Service will be held in Bean Funeral Homes, 3825 Penn Ave, Sinking Spring, on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at 6:00 PM. Pastor Nelson Shank to officiate. The family will receive guests in Bean Funeral Home, Sinking Spring, on Tuesday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
