Robert Stackhouse

March 2, 1954 — February 27, 2021

Spring Township, PA

Robert P. Stackhouse, 66, of Spring Township, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Temple University Hospital, surrounded by his beloved wife and children.  He was the husband of Catherine (Mota) Stackhouse.  Born in Hazleton, Mr. Stackhouse (“Bob” or “Bobby” to his family and friends) was the son of the late Robert B. and Anne M. (Hanley) Stackhouse.  After graduating from Governor Mifflin High School in 1972, he went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts degree from Penn State University. As President of Stackhouse Bensinger, Inc, Robert was responsible for managing the multi-disciplined consulting firm.  In addition to his wife, Mr. Stackhouse is survived by his children Daniel R. Stackhouse, husband of Kirsten A. Stackhouse of Sinking Spring; Alison P. Stackhouse of Philadelphia; his grandchildren Ava, Sienna, Gabriel, Adriana.  Also surviving are his siblings Anne L. Brewer, wife of Robert Brewer of Winchester, VA; Jane E. Prutzman, wife of Clarence Prutzman of Oley and Thomas M. Stackhouse, husband of Sandra Stackhouse of Thurmont, MD.

Bob and Cathy were married on March 6, 1982 at Our Lady of Peace church, in Fords, New Jersey.  Together they shared 39 cherished years.

He was an exceptionally devoted family man, and he took extreme pride in his children. He adored every moment spent with his four grandchildren, who he often snuck candy to much to their parents’ dismay.

As an avid Penn State football fan and tailgate champion, his signature look almost always included a grass stained PSU hat. The family spent countless vacations in Chincoteague Island, Va, where he looked forward to deep-sea fishing, with the Rolling Stones playing on the radio, and a Koozie-clad beer in hand.

Known as “Stack” to his high school buddies, who he remained close with, he was a loyal friend to many. Bob was fluent in sarcasm, and his family and friends will undoubtedly miss his quick wit and dry sense of humor.

He made an impact on everyone he met, and will be cherished and missed deeply by all.

Celebration of Tribute Service will be held at the convenience of the family in Bean Funeral Home, 129 East Lancaster Ave. Shillington.  Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Shillington.
