Roger A. Burnish

Roger A. Burnish, 79, of Reading, formerly of Leesport, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at the Reading Hospital. Born in Reading, Roger was the son of the late, Lewis J. Burnish and Mildred M. (Prezepuria). Roger was a graduate of Reading High School, class of 1962, and went on to serve in the United States Navy.

Roger was an avid lover of animals. His cats Smoky and Mitzi were his dearest companions. He had many strong friendships with his neighbors where he resided since 1998. He was a loyal fan of the Philadelphia Flyers, Phillies, and Eagles. Notoriously known for his cars and home being immaculate, he was a proud provider for his family. He had an unrivaled work ethic that his children inherited.

Roger is survived by his children, Timothy A. Burnish, husband of Wendy, of Topton, Roger C. Burnish, husband of Stacey, of Leesport, Kara K. Maddy, of Wyomissing, Ryan P. Burnish, husband of Lindsey, of Fleetwood, his grandchildren, Kasey-Jo, Sara, Corey, Aaron, Elle, and Noah, and great grandchildren, Delaney, and Kanaan. He is also survived by his brothers, Craig Burnish, Glenn Burnish, and Brian Burnish. 

Roger is predeceased by his brothers, Robert Burnish and Marshall Burnish. 

Funeral service for Roger will be held in Bean Funeral Home, 1605 Rockland Street, Reading, PA 19604, on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at 10:30 AM. Pastor Greg Carder to officiate. Internment to follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive relatives and guests in Bean Funeral Home, Reading, on Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM.
