Ronald G. Stitzman

Ronald “Rocky” G. Stitzman, 84, of Exeter Township, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Reading Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Carol E. (Batz) Stitzman, with whom he shared 63 wonderful years of marriage.

Born in Reading in January 1942, he was the son of the late Kirk B. and Evelyn (Wilkinson) Stitzman. At a young age, Ronald attended school in Germany through the seventh grade before returning to the United States with his family. He graduated from Exeter High School in 1960, where he earned numerous athletic honors and medals, particularly excelling in track and field.

Ron and his wife, Carol, were former members of the U.S. Amateur Ballroom Dance Association, Lehigh Chapter. He was also a long standing member of the Reading Liederkranz. Ron had a lifelong passion for karate, practicing and teaching the martial arts for more than 30 years. He took great pride in sharing his knowledge with others and helping students develop discipline and confidence.

In addition to his wife, Carol, Ron is survived by his daughter, Rochelle A. Bendetti, wife of Daniel, of Reading; his son, Eric R. Stitzman, husband of Tara Snyder, of Mohnton; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Linda Schwank, of Pennside; and a niece and nephew.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Kirk Stitzman Jr. and Richard Stitzman.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, October 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Bean Funeral Homes, 6 Fairlane Road, Reading, PA 19606. Amy S. Landis, Certified Celebrant, will officiate. Burial of the urn will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park.

Family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service.
