Ruth H. Bryza

Ruth H. Bryza, 86, of Shillington, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at the Reading Hospital. Born on August 23, 1938, in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Bryza and Grace Fern (Miller) Bryza. 

Ruth served proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. During her life, she worked in the Laundry Department at the Reading Hospital until retiring in 2000. Ruth was a member of The Women’s Veterans of Berks County Club. She enjoyed going to the casinos with her friends, reading and doing puzzle books. 

Ruth is survived by her daughter, Jodi M. Bryza-Stevenson wife of William C. Stevenson Jr., of Bern Township; grandson, William C. Stevenson III.; brothers, Gerald Bryza and his wife Edith, Harold Bryza and his wife Kathy; sisters, Sandra Fletcher and her husband Richard, Grace Wagner and her husband Robert, Virginia Moyer, Lillian Quillman, Shirley Dunkelberger, and Cheryl Ferwerda and her husband Rick. She is also survived by numerous beloved nieces and nephews and their families.

She was predeceased by 7 siblings, William Bryza, Josephine Garman, Jane Dombos, Ida Haag, Annie Laboy, Judy Bryza, and Margaret Dunkelberger.
