Stanley P. Albrecht

Stanley P. Albrecht, 94, formerly of Shilington passed away peacefully on Monday, June 3, 2024 at Phoebe Berks.   He was the beloved husband of  Kathryn Albrecht (DiDino).  Together they shared 74 years of marriage together.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Paul and Amelia (Kieta) Albrecht.  Stanley served in the United States Army.  After the military he graduated from the Police Academy.  Stanley served the city of Reading for 20 years, first as a patrolman then rising in rank to detective.  He went on to becoming an auctioneer, owning and operating the Orth Auction House on the Morgantown Road with his wife for the next 20 years until his retirement in 1995.  Stanley had many interests and was a man of all trades.  Famous for his summer clambakes and cooking, he also enjoyed baking, especially novelty birthday cakes for the family, woodcarving, birdwatching, gardening and collecting antiques.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his wife Kathryn at their condo in Stone Harbor.

Stanley is survived by his wife Kathryn Albrecht, daughter, Deborah A. Hawk, wife of Wayne E Hawk, of Sinking Spring; grandchildren, Zachary Hawk, husband of Bethany Henry, of Lewisberry, Pa; Mallory Hawk, wife of Hamilton Lane, of Burlington, NJ; and great grandchildren Xander and Zaria Lane.

He was preceded in death by his eight siblings.

Thank you to all the staff at Phoebe Berks from social workers, nurses, aides to cleaning personnel, especially Tammy, Dana and April, and to Heartland Hospice, especially Gessi, who made Stanley's last few weeks bearable and comfortable.  As Stanley would say to you all, KO, K2.
