Sue Frances Sterner, 84, of Sinking Spring, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at 6:41 pm in her residence. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Richard K. Reber, Fred Sterner and Ronald Thomas Downey who passed away January 13, 2021. Born in Columbia, PA, Sue was the daughter of the late Clarence L. and Florence F. (Harnley) Wright. She was a member of Saint Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church and was a 1959 graduate of Governor Mifflin High School. Sue was last employed by Capital Blue Cross as a customer service representative, retiring in 1991. She is survived by her children Randy Francis Schlesman husband of Loriann Schlesman with whom she last resided, Sean Fager of Reading, Brandee F. East wife of Todd A. East of Delaware, stepchildren Richard W. Reber of Hollywood, Florida, Melanie A. Riegel wife of David A. Riegel of Birdsboro, Robin Teitelbaum of Laureldale, Terry Teitelbaum of Santa Cruz, California, adopted daughters, Traci Frystak, wife of David Frystak, Frisco, Texas, Lolita A. Readdy wife of the late Thomas Readdy, Sinking Spring and Sheri Keuscher, partner of Duane Madeira, Reading, PA, 18 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren whom she fondly referred to as her grandbunnies.
Sue is also survived by her siblings Joye Wright of Reading, Gail Shutt of Exton, Hollie Jaeger of Mohnton, David Wright and Timothy Wright of Mohnton. She is predeceased by siblings Faye Keely, Joel Wright and Leroy Wright.
Sue enjoyed the water and was actively involved in the local coast guard flotilla for many years. In her retirement years she and her late husband Ron enjoyed cruises and traveled all over the world. As a dog lover, Sue was a supporter of the local animal rescue league and a devoted dog mom to her beloved Ginger.
Funeral Service will be held at Bean Funeral Home 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at 11:00 am. Deacon Rick Lanciano will officiate. Interment will follow at Sinking Spring Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends at Bean Funeral Home Tuesday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508 in memory of Mrs. Sue Frances Sterner.
