Susan E. Strangarity (George), 71, of Newmanstown, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife to Nicholas J. Strangarity Jr. for over 38 Years of marriage. Born in Reading, Susan was the daughter of the late Herman George and Mildred (Mensch). Susan was a beloved mother, wife, and friend who brightened the lives of all who knew her.
In addition to her husband, Susan's legacy continues through her sons: Johnathan N. Strangarity of York, Daniel A. Strangarity of Myerstown, and Andrew M. Strangarity of Newmanstown. Susan is also survived by her brother, Russell L. George with wife Karen George of Exeter Twp. Her extended family includes Daniel's fiancé, Rachael Leininger and her daughter, Adriana and Johnathan's long-time partner, Jess Estabrook. Susan often spoke of her family as her greatest treasure, and she always had a glow about her when surrounded by her loved ones.
She was a devoted partner and a proud mother, who cherished every moment spent with her family, whether it was at the beach, on a family vacation, or simply enjoying each other's company.
In her free time, Susan was an avid crocheter, making blankets, scarves, hats, and gloves for all of the family members and friends including the four-legged friends. Susan loved to shop and could reliably be found perusing thrift shops and stores searching for that special gift for everyone in her life. Christmas was a special occasion and obviously gifts were overdone each year, even though it was promised that "This year will be smaller than last year" only for this to never be true.
A graduate of Central Catholic High School, she dedicated 38 years of her professional life to Associate Wholesalers, Inc., where she worked as an Administrative Assistant to the CEO. There she built lasting friendships that endured with her through her life. Her colleagues remember her not only for her diligence and dedication, but for her ability to bring warmth and positivity to the workplace.
Susan was passionate about giving back to the community, taking an active role in fundraising efforts for the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Her commitment to helping others extended beyond just her immediate circle, as she dedicated herself to brightening the lives of children facing adversity
