Teresa Borelli, 83, of Sinking Spring, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 9:00 am at Reading Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Serafino “Sam” Borelli, who passed away March 14, 2008. Born in Sersale, Catanzaro, Italy, Mrs. Borelli was the daughter of the late Carmine and Rosa (Alvaro) DeFazio. She married her childhood sweetheart in 1957 and immigrated to the United States in 1959 to build her new life in America. Over the next 62 years, she lovingly embraced life by working hard to raise her family and build beautiful relationships with so many friends and family. Mrs Borelli was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church and was employed most recently by the Wilson School District as a lunch aide for 12 years until her recent retirement where everyone affectionally called her “Mamma”. Prior to this position, she worked at Brentwood industries for 19 years and she also worked at Cacoosing Industries and Penndale. Mrs. Borelli was a loving mother to her children Carmelina A. Kalaras, wife of David Kalaras of Wernersville; Rosanna Borelli of Sinking Spring; Serafino “Sam” Borelli, Jr. husband of Karen Borelli of Lower Heidelberg Township; Antonio Borelli of Sinking Spring. She was a loving grandmother to Michael, Nicole, Amanda, Lindsey, Daniel, Leah and Chloe and great grandmother to Leilani, Andrew, Mila, Evan and Stella. Mrs. Borelli is also survived by her sister and best friend Anna Maria Borelli of Sinking Spring; her brother Pasquale DeFazio of Italy, many nieces and nephews and was like a second mom to so many. She was preceded in death by her sisters Antoinetta and Marietta.
Her priceless gift to all of us was instilling the importance of living life to its fullest being surrounded by family and friends. She was always willing to impart her love for cooking, wine and sharing her Italian traditions. Her heart of gold and her welcoming personality will live on in all of us.
The family of Mrs. Borelli would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at the Reading Hospital C-1 and N4 South and Judy in Security for the kindness they were shown during their mother’s time at the hospital.
