Thomas W. Bickta, 77, of Manheim Township, passed away Monday, July 20, 2026 at 1:45 pm at Chester County Hospital, West Chester. He was the husband of Kathleen M. (Attewell) Bickta. Born in Reading, Mr. Bickta was the son of the late William H. and Virginia K. (Barnett) Bickta. He received an Associate Degree from Reading Area Community College and served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era. Mr. Bickta was a Sergeant for the Pennsylvania State Police for 25 years. Tom's commitment to public service continued, as he worked for Homeland Security, conducting background investigations for individuals seeking security clearances.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his step-children Patrick B. Ryan husband of Samantha Ryan of Feasterville; Michael F. Ryan of Feasterville; Kaitlin M. Ryan companion of Jordan Levin of Feasterville and his grandchildren Daniel, Mersadie, Maizie, Jade, Harper. Mr. Bickta is also survived by his siblings Robert B. Bickta husband of Lynne Bickta of Flying Hills; Deborah A. Pawelski wife of Paul Pawelski of Womelsdorf; Cynthia A. Bickta of Reading; Sandra K. Eberle of Mertztown; Barbara VanEmmerik wife of Peter VanEmmerik of Center Valley; David M. Bickta of Reading; Brian R. Bickta of Shillington and was preceded in death by Richard D. Bickta; Michael L. Bickta and Brenda M. Makuch.

Memorial Service will be held at Bean Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1605 Rockland Street, Hampden Heights, Thursday, July 30, 2026 at 12:00 pm. Reverend Brian M. Miller will officiate. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. The family will receive relatives and friends at Bean Funeral Homes & Cremation Services Thursday from 10:00 am to 11:50 am. Masonic Service will be conducted by St. John’s Lodge 435 F&AM at 11:50 am. Military Honors will be rendered by the United States Air Force Honor Guard following the memorial service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation 2361 Hylan Blvd. Staten Island, New York 10306, T2T.org in memory of Mr. Thomas W. Bickta.
