Thomas Walter Pope

Thomas Walter Pope, age 69, of Reading, PA, passed away on January 4, 2026, at Penn State Hospital, surrounded by his loving children and devoted sister.

Born in Pottstown, Montgomery County, Thomas lived a life full of laughter, service, and love. He attended Fleetwood Area High School before answering the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Navy. During his approximately 16 years of service, he completed his G.E.D. through the Navy and later attended Penn State. He was a proud Navy veteran and carried that pride with him always.

A man of strong faith, Thomas loved life and truly lived it to the fullest. He enjoyed traveling, playing golf, passionately supporting the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies, and spending time with his family and friends. He worked for Infinity Limo, a job he genuinely loved, and never missed a chance to connect with people.

Thomas had a generous heart and a contagious sense of humor. Making others laugh came naturally to him, and his kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Above all else, he cherished his family.

He is survived by his children, Jason T. Pope and Jennifer L. Pope; his beloved twin granddaughters, Makayla L. Azzarito and Makenzie E. Azzarito; his sisters, Laura B. (Pope) Griffith (“Sissybeth”) and Susan L. (Pope) Seltzer; and many nieces/nephews and great nieces/nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings Lee A. Pope and Kelly M. (Pope) Miller, and his parents, J. Thomas Pope and Betty J. (Hamel) McDonough.

A private burial will be held at a later date.
