Thomas A. Worley, 73, of South Heidelberg Township, passed away in his residence on Tuesday, June 3, 2025.
Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Floyd E. and Jane L. (Ludwig) Worley.
Tom honorably served his country as a Master Sergeant in the 193rd Special Operations Wing of the Pennsylvania Air National Guard. He was called to active duty under the Air Force Special Operations Command during the Gulf War, serving in both Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm. He retired from military service in 1998.
Following his military career, Tom became President of Worley Lumber in Wernersville, where he led the company until his retirement in 2013.
Tom lived life to the fullest. As a pilot, he found joy flying his Cessna across the skies of Pennsylvania. While stationed at Andrews Air Force Base, he resided aboard his boat in Deale, Maryland, cherishing time on the Chesapeake Bay. Upon his retirement from Worley Lumber, he enjoyed driving his Ford Mustangs, making wine, supporting local artisans, spending time with his granddaughters, companion, and friends. In his later years, Tom displayed incredible fortitude and resilience while facing many health challenges. Tom was best known for his warmth, storytelling, humor, and generous hospitality—always offering something delicious to eat or drink to those around him.
He is survived by his son, Scott A. Worley, husband of Antonella Worley, of Lower Heidelberg Township; and his beloved granddaughters, Mia C. Worley, Athena A. Worley, and Laila R. Worley. He is also survived by his sister, Laetitia A. Moyer, of North Carolina; his loving companion, Sara Perez of Wyomissing; and his cherished furry friend, PC. He was preceded in death by his brother, Christopher L. Worley.
