Warren Ivan Shumaker

Warren Ivan Shumaker, 91, of East Cocalico Township, Lancaster County, passed away Friday, August 8, 2025 at 1:28 am in his residence. He was the husband of Patricia Ann “Patty Ann” (Long) Shumaker. Born in Muncie, Indiana, Mr. Shumaker was the son of the late Shelbert Anthony Shumaker and Azalea Mary (Jackson) Shumaker. He was raised in Kokomo, Indiana, but moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1957 and a year later was drafted into the United States Army where he served four years and was honorable discharged in 1962. Mr. Shumaker moved back to Tucson and joined the Tucson Fire Department and retired after 25 years as assistant fire chief. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Reading and he and his wife Patty Ann served 18 months as missionaries in Sydney, Australia. Mr. and Mrs. Shumaker moved to Berks County in 1998 and spent time pursuing activities he enjoyed, fishing, gardening, genealogical research. In addition to his wife Mr. Shumaker is survived by his sons Gregory Ivan Shumaker of St. David, Arizona; Frank Lynn Shumaker of Tucson, Arizona; Stephanie Sue Shumaker of Phoenix, Arizona and his step-daughters Lori Ann Kunkle of Sinking Spring and Susan Elizabeth Dunn with whom he last resided. Mr. Shumaker is also survived by 19 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and was preceded in death by his siblings Shirley Emma, Glenn Earl, Marjorie Nell, Lynda Sue and Mary Ann and his oldest son Steven Allen Shumaker.
