Wayne Freeman

Wayne W. Freeman, 91 passed away on October 18, 2021 at his residence, the small farm he loved in Bernville PA, joining his life partner and love, Mary (Noss) Freeman, who he wed on June 2, 1958 and celebrated 60 years of marriage, prior to her death on July 8, 2018. Born in Cumru Township, September 20, 1930, to the late Elem E. and Mary S. (Erwin) Freeman. He was a U.S. Marines Corps veteran of the Korean War where he was wounded, earning two Purple Hearts and membership in the DAV. Wayne started working at an early age; shoveling coal, digging septic tanks, and as a farm hand, until creating a career at Fabrication Specialists, Reading PA, as a welder, truck driver, maintenance mechanic, and fabricator. He completed his work life by retiring from Rose Corp., Reading PA. He thoroughly enjoyed country living on his small farm; raising a family, keeping steers and chickens, a vegetable garden and fruit orchard; spending his final years napping on the front porch.

He is survived by his children; Maggie Freeman, Oley PA; Wayne Freeman and his wife Ginny, Hamburg PA; and Douglas Freeman and his wife Julie, Hamburg PA; 4 grandchildren and their families. He is also survived by siblings Miriam (Freeman) and her husband Bob Kripplebauer; Henrietta (Freeman) Ziegler, Elem “Skip” Freeman, Donald Freeman and his wife Lucille. He was predeceased by siblings; Earl E.; Betty M. Nagle; Helen L.; Beatrice L.; Jane E.; Alan D. “Muzz” Freeman; and Eula M. (Freeman) Yarnall. The family sincerely thanks the VA locations in Lebanon and Wyomissing for their many years of care, and Compassionate Care and AseraCare Hospice for their special and tender attention in his final days.

Funeral service for Wayne, will be held in Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring, on Friday, October 22 at 11:00 AM, Pastor Randy Bond to officiate, interment will be held privately at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. The Family will receive friends and relatives in Bean Funeral Home, on Friday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM
