William H. Hartranft

William H. Hartranft, 66, of Lower Alsace Township, passed away Friday, December 22, 2023 at 6:30 pm at Penn State Health-St. Joseph Hospital.  He was the Loving husband of Marie E. (Schwartz) Hartranft.  Born in Reading, Mr. Hartranft was the son of the late William S. and June E. (Rentz) Hartranft.  He was a member of Saint Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church and was employed by Local Union 542 I.U.O.E. as a heavy equipment operating engineer.  Mr. Hartranft enjoyed telling stories and dad jokes, spending time with family and friends, sprint car racing, coaching baseball and basketball and attending every sporting event that his children and grandchildren participated in.  In addition to his wife he is survived by his children Lori A. Shuart(Steven W. Snader) of Reading; William R. Hartranft(Lindsay C. Nanz) of West Lawn; his grandchildren Raymond, Ryan, Zofia, Ania, Maddox and his sister Elaine M. Haas(Douglas J.) of Exeter Township. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church 4975 Boyertown Pike, Exeter Township, Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at 11:00 am.  Reverend Brian Miller, Celebrant.  Interment will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery.  The family will receive relatives and friends at Saint Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church Tuesday from 8:30 am to 10:30 am.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Saint Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church 2427 Perkiomen Ave. Mount Penn, PA 19606 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org in memory of Mr. William H.
