William Schmehl

William F. Schmehl, 86, of Reading, passed away on Sunday, November 9th, at Mifflin Center, where he had been a patient for three months. He was transferred there from Country Meadows, where he had been a patient for two years.

Born in Readnig, he was the son of the late George W. Schmehl and Helen M. (Moyer) Schmehl, and widower of the late Virginia H. (Spadafora) Schmehl, who passed away on July 6, 2000.

He was a US Army Air Corp veteran, serving during World War II, and past fire chief of Greenfields Fire Co.

He worked as a Machinist for Lebanon Tool Co. for eleven years, retiring in 1989.

He was a member of Calvary Reformed United Church of Christ, Reading.

He is survived by his godchild: Stephanie Driscoll of Maryland, and dear friends: Thomas R. Miller, and his wife Pauline L. Miller, of Bernville.
