William Sherry

William F. Sherry, 88, of Leesport, passed away on Thursday, December 11th, at 7:52 p.m. at St. Joseph's Medical Center.

Born in Shamokin, he was the son of the late George W. Sherry and Esther Ann (Frahn) Sherry, and husband of Julia A. (Duncheskie) Sherry at home.

Mr. & Mrs. Sherry had been married for 62 years.

He was a 1938 graduate of Shamokin High School, and served with our United Army and United States Air Corps during World War II.

He worked as a switchman for Bell Telephone in Collegeville and Pottstown for 19 years, retiring in 1985.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons: William F. Sherry Jr., husband of Virginia Sherry of Boyertown, Dale E. Sherry, companion of Gaza Barr of Conshohocken; and Scott A. Sherry, husband of Carolyn Sherry of Collegeville.

There are also six grandchildren: William, Phillip, Lee Anne, Susan, Amy, and Tim; and eight great grandchildren.
