William “Bill” N. Urkuski, 89, of Sinking Spring, passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, October 12, 2026, at 7:52 p.m.
Born in Reading, William was the son of the late John James Urkuski and Laura (Keenan) Urkuski. He was the beloved husband of the late Patricia Ann (Robinson) Urkuski, who preceded him in death on June 6, 2001. Their love and the family they built together remained an important part of his life.
Bill was a hardworking man who dedicated many years of his career to Lucent Technologies, where he worked as an electrical inspector until his well-earned retirement. After years of hard work, he was more than happy to trade in his workdays for days spent doing the things he loved most: golfing, traveling, and watching his grandchildren compete in sports. He made the most of his free time and rarely passed up an opportunity to get out on the golf course or take a trip.
Above all, Bill loved his family. He was especially proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who held a very special place in heart. His love for his family was evident, and his legacy will live on through the generations who were fortunate enough to call him Dad, Granddad and Great Granddad.
Bill is survived by his children, William N. Urkuski, Jr., husband of Candel H. Urkuski, of Mohnton, and Kelly A. Grainger, wife of Michael K. Grainger, of Douglassville; his grandchildren, Polly, Carly, Jamie, Casey, Cory, and Steven; and his eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Laura Kilpatrick of Wyomissing and Nancy Buhl of West Palm Beach, Florida. He was preceded in death by his brothers, John, Richard, Kenneth, Ronald, and Robert.
A funeral service will be held at Bean Funeral Home, 1605 Rockland Street, Hampden Heights, on Monday, October 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Pam Reed officiating. Interment will follow at Laureldale Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends at Bean Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday.
