Barry Gilbert

Barry A. Gilbert, 79, of Telford, Montgomery County, formerly of Shillington, passed away Tuesday December 29, 2020 at 1:30 pm in St. Luke’s Hospital, Upper Bucks Campus, Quakertown. He was the husband of Linda J. (Keiper) Gilbert, with whom he had just celebrated 54 years of marriage. Born in Lebanon, PA, Barry was the son of the late Catherine (Snyder) Gilbert and the late A.D. Gilbert. He served in the United States Air Force and was a layout operator for AT&T for 30 years until his retirement. He was later a Real Estate Agent in Berks County. Barry was a volunteer fireman for the Shillington Fire Company for several years, a member of Rattler Hunting Camp, Pennwyn Motor Association and Clover Park AA. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Michelle L. Vito, wife of John J. Vito of Telford and his granddaughters Taylor and Reagan. He is also survived by his sister Paulette Bollinger, wife of Barry Bollinger of Reading.

Before his illness, he loved to hunt, fish, and play golf regularly. He also loved spending time with his family and he and Linda took many vacations over the years, including his granddaughters’ first trip to Disney World.

Graveside Service with Military Honors rendered by the United States Air Force Honor Guard will be held at the convenience of the family at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation PO Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014 in memory of Mr. Barry A. Gilbert.
