Obituary

Elmer C. Pantaleo, Jr., 78, of Leesport, passed away Monday, May 16, 2022 at 5:50 am at Penn State Health-St. Joseph Hospital.  He was the husband of the late Eileen (Shimp) Pantaleo who passed away January 9, 1981.  Born in Reading, Mr. Pantaleo was the son of the late Elmer C. Pantaleo, Sr. and Catharine (Leiby) Pantaleo.  He served in the United States Navy and was a deputy sheriff for the Berks County Sheriff’s Department from 1987-2010.  Mr. Pantaleo is survived by his daughters Karen M. Gehret, wife of Gregg D. Gehret with whom he last resided; Sherry L. Hollenbach, wife of James Hollenbach, Sr. of Cape Coral, Florida and his grandchildren Jared, Hunter, Noah, Brett, Joey, Alexa and his great grandchildren Collin, Carter, Kira, Kyleigh.  He is also survived by his brother Albert Pantaleo, husband of Sue Pantaleo of Myerstown.
