Joyce Shell

Joyce M. Shell, 96, of West Lawn passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2022 in her home. Born in West Lawn, she was the daughter of Eda Rebecca (Fidler) and Edward C. Shell. She is a 1943 graduate of Wilson High School. Joyce was a lifelong member of West Lawn United Methodist Church. She worked for Berkshire Knitting Mill and retired as a Computer Operator at Rockwell. Joyce was a member of the Reading Hiking Club and enjoyed puzzles and reading.

Joyce is survived by her friend, Robin Scalese, wife of John Jr., Mertztown and Goddaughter, Heather Stricker, wife of Ryan, Reading. She is preceded in death by her brothers George Shell, Gerald Shell, a sister, Margaret Rhein, wife of Merritt, and nephew, David.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Laureldale Cemetery, 4631 Pottsville Pike, Reading, PA. Bean Funeral Homes, Sinking Spring is in charge of arrangements and online condolences may be made at www.beanfuneralhomes.com.
