LaRue A. Loeper, 90, of Muhlenberg Township, passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at the Reading Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul W. Loeper, they joined matrimony on May 15, 1954.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Charles Bauscher and Daisy Stella Angstadt. She graduated from Reading High School in 1949. During her life she was employed by Berkshire Knitting Mills and Muhlenberg School District. Mrs. Loeper was the co-owner of Loeper Roofing & Sheet Metal Company, she was the managing director for the late Paul W. Loeper, subcontractor for J.C. Ehrlich for 30 years, retiring in 1986.

LaRue attended Zion’s Church, Perry Township. She enjoyed many years in Avalon, boating, fishing, crabbing, playing cards, and traveling with family and friends. She was known for being a true kid at heart. Above all, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her world and she will truly be missed. She is survived by her six children, Eileen R. (Loeper), widow of Barry Luckenbill, of Hamburg; Gail L. (Loeper), wife of Tab Wenrich, of Wernersville; Jeffrey L. Loeper, Hyde Villa, fiancé of Lanette Glenn; Kay S. (Loeper), wife of K. Scott Hartman, of Alsace Township; Lori J. (Loeper), wife of Steven S. Jacobs, of West Lawn; and Todd A. Loeper, husband of Patricia  C. (Adams) Loeper, of Alsace Township; 13 grandchildren, Timothy, Matthew, Monica, Thomas, Travis, Jeffrey, LeeAnn, Kendra, Kyle, Scott, Kelly, Alex, Michael; and 24 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her sister Abbie E. (Fleck) Sauder and brother in law Clayton Sauder.

Funeral service will be held at Zion’s Church 770 Zion Church Rd, Hamburg, PA 19526 on Monday, May 17, 2021 at 10:30am. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery.
