Melissa E. Ruth, 53, of Akron, passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021. She was the beloved wife of Kevin B. Ruth, with whom she shared 32 years of marriage. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of Byron Ramer, of West Lawn, and the late Bonnie (Feick) Ramer.
Missie was a 1986 graduate of Governor Mifflin High School. Her most recent occupation was a homemaker, and earlier on in her career, she was employed by the Bank of Pennsylvania, EJ Breneman, Pharmhouse, and The Beauty Center Outlet. Missie was a TBI survivor. In 2003, she was a co-founding member of a local support group, ChiariPeople of PA, for people diagnosed and living with Arnold Chiari brain malformation and Syringomyelia. She was a dedicated member of Lives Changed by Christ (LCBC Church) in Ephrata. Missie was an animal lover and enjoyed gardening, but overall she loved her family.
In addition to her husband and father, she is survived by her daughter, Nicole L. Ruth, of Harrisburg; son, Brandon J. Ruth, of Akron; nephew, Glenn S. Moyer Jr., of Lititz; brother, Barry Ramer, of Birdsboro; and sister, Michele Long, of Lancaster.
Funeral Service will be held at Bean Funeral Homes, 1605 Rockland Street Reading, PA 19604, on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Laureldale Cemetery. The family will receive family and friends from 10:00am-11:00am.
