Thomas J. Motley, Sr., 91, of Wyomissing, passed away surrounded by his loving family in his home on January 21, 2021.  Born in Kearny, NJ, he was the son of the late Frank F. and Teresa L. (Reifsnyder) Motley.  Mr. Motley was the loving husband of Carlene A. (Bercher) Motley, together they shared 63 years of marriage.  Mr. Motley proudly served his country in the United States Army in the 11th and 82nd Airborne Divisions.  He graduated from Pottsville High in 1951 and in 1958 received his Bachelor of Science of Civil Engineering from Indiana Tech.  Mr. Motley was a professional land surveyor in PA and was licensed as a professional engineer in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Mississippi, and New Mexico.  Mr. Motley worked as a Professional Engineer for 52 + years at his company Motley Associates.  He was a member of Knights of Columbus 4th Degree, a member of the American Legion in Schuylkill Haven, a past member of PA Society of Professional Engineers, and a past member of Military Society of Engineers. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, painting, and Southwestern culture.

In addition to his wife, Carlene, Mr. Motley is survived by his children; Thomas J. Motley, Jr., Charles F. Motley, and his wife Angela, Mary Kathleen (Motley) Burkholder, and her husband Curt, and Patrick J. Motley, and his wife Ginger.  He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren and his sister, Doris Motley.  Mr. Motley is preceded in death by his siblings, Frank Motley, Mildred Centeleghe, and Edward J. Motley.

Burial will be held at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, c/o St. Ignatius Parish Church, 2810 St. Albans Drive, Reading, PA 19608.  Bean Funeral Homes, Exeter Township, is in charge of arrangements and online condolences may be made at www.beanfuneralhomes.com.
