Zenith Ludwig

Zenith F. “Skip” Ludwig, 78, formerly of Wernersville, passed away March 18, 2020 in Sarasota Memorial Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sarasota, Florida.  He was the husband of the late Roseann (Reiter) Ludwig.  Mr. Ludwig was a professional fire fighter for the City of Reading from 1966-2000 and volunteered from 1959-1966.  He was the owner of Ludwig Fire Extinguisher Service from 1970-2002.  From 1957-1966, Mr. Ludwig worked at Reading Laundries, Textile Machine Works, Parish Press Steel and Misco Products.  He was  member of Reading Fire and Rescue Service from 1959-2017; member of local 1803 Reading Fire Fighters; member of International Association of Firefighters AFL-CIO Alumni; member of Pennsylvania State Firefighters Association; member of Fireman’s Association State of Pennsylvania; life member of Berks County Fireman’s Association; life member of Keystone State Fire Chiefs Association; member of Oakbrook Fire Company in Reading; member of West Reading Fire Company; awarded the Medal of Merit for Outstanding service in 1990; Reading Bureau of Fire Official Commendation for Rescue of Victims; Certificate of Commendation from the Gregg Post American Legion Post; Kidney transplant 1981-2000; second kidney transplant 2006-2007; attended Crossway Church and was a disc jockey for Berks Encore karaoke in Wernersville.  Mr. Ludwig is survived by his son Bryan Ludwig of California; daughters Tina Brown of Reading and Kristy Hartman of Florida; step-son Philip Reifsnider, III of Birdsboro.

Graveside Service will be held in Forest Hills Memorial Park, 390 West Neversink Road, Exeter Township, Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 12:00 pm.  Reverend Paul L.
