Dignified Funeral and Cremation Services

What Makes Us Unique

On-site crematory

Because we offer cremation at our on-site crematory, your loved one will never leave the shelter of our expert care.

We offer four convenient locations throughout the Greater Suburban Reading area with locations in Hampden Heights, Shillington, Sinking Spring, and Exeter Township. Our beautiful facilities were designed to provide a sense of warmth, peace, serenity and closure.

Personalized services

Our caring professionals will listen, suggest, organize, and carry out ceremonies that are comforting and full of meaning. We have Certified Celebrants on staff for those who would prefer a non-religious Celebration of Life service.

Exceptional staff

We have carefully chosen each member of our staff to ensure that our families receive the most professional, compassionate care. We proudly remain family owned. We are accountable to you, not to stockholders.

Serving all faiths and cultures

We care for families of all faiths and are able to assist those without a spiritual leader.

Serving Veterans

Robert E. Bean, the founder of Bean Funeral Homes and Supervisor of the Hampden Heights location, is a combat Veteran of the Korean War. Our staff are experts in the coordination of military services and will assist you in obtaining the benefits to which you are entitled. In addition, we offer transportation without an additional mileage charge to the closest National Cemetery; Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, Lebanon County.

Monument options

Our staff will assist you in the various options and design of the memorial of your choice while providing you a seamless experience. We will also coordinate the arrangements for a proper foundation and will install your memorial in the cemetery of your choice. As with all of our services, all memorials are guaranteed to meet your full satisfaction.

Celebrant Services

Remembering a loved one that passed away should be about the days they lived, not about the day they died. Our Certified Funeral Celebrants will work with your family and friends to create a unique, personalized Life Tribute Celebration Service. Through eulogies, video and audio tributes, and family story time, we will coordinate and plan a uniquely personal and memorable service to honor your loved one.

Memorial Products

These special remembrance items are keepsakes cherished by family and friends alike. A family only has to supply their favorite family photographs. Our staff will assist you with the design and layout and will take care of the rest of the details.

Family Car

Upon your request, Bean Funeral Homes will arrange drivers and special cars for you and your family. For some, comforting moments occur in family cars or limousines on the way from one funeral event to another. After an emotional service surrounded by friends and family, some quiet time with immediate family can be calming and grounding.

Children's Playrooms

These child-friendly rooms offer children a special place to play without distracting service attendees.

In-Home Arrangements

Whether for an arrangement immediately following a death or when making future plans, we will assist you with making arrangements in the comfort of your home or at one of our locations that are most convenient for you.

Bagpiper

For many, the stirring sound of bagpipes highlights the reverent and sacred nature of a funeral.

Balloon Release

We offer an environmentally safe balloon release for you to use after the service, committal service or at a private family gathering. You can attach special notes and messages to the balloons for a special send-off.

Motorcycle Hearse

This exclusive Farewell Ride is a unique remembrance for the motorcycle enthusiast or an original way to personalize any loved one's final journey.

Eternal Reefs

Our staff can assist you in creating and determining an appropriate seabed location for a Permanent Living Memorial to your loved one with an Eternal Reef, helping to preserve and sustain marine life for generations to come.

Dove Release

Releasing doves as part of the celebration of the life of a loved one not only pays a poignant tribute to the person who has died, but can also prove emotionally uplifting and inspirational for the mourners attending the funeral.
